Sharon E. White
Sharon Eileen (Aikey) White,76, Westernville, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023. She was born December 10, 1946 to John and Dorothy Aikey in Canandaigua. Sharon was the youngest in the family of 6 and had twin sisters Betty Richardson and Ann Perry as well as brothers Richard Aikey and Francis (Frank) Aikey, all now deceased. Her brother and sister-in-law John and Jane Aikey are living and still reside in Canandaigua. Sharon has many wonderful relatives living in the central New York area who have supported her throughout her life and recent battle with Leukemia.
Sharon was married to Roger Isaac from 1965 to 1978. They had a son, Roger Bruce Isaac. To this day Sharon always said Roger Bruce was the most important and best thing she ever accomplished. Roger Bruce has a daughter Leah C Isaac, who is a beautiful young lady and one of Roger’s fishing partners.
Shari met Roger L. White in January 1978 and married the love of her life in July 1981, a blessed union of 42 years. She worked in several secretarial positions including Corporation Council Secretary City of Rome 1981 and 1982. She found her passion working as School Secretary in several Rome City Elementary Schools from 1983 through retirement in 2008.
Shari was a breast cancer survivor and mentored individuals dealing with the same. She really loved books and reading. She supported the library any way she could. Shari loved music, knew all the words but could not sing. Trivial Pursuit was her game and would never ever loose. She loved traveling and seeing new places, nature hikes and casino trips. Most importantly, she liked visiting family and friends all over the country. She loved interacting with aunts and uncles, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews. When you had a birthday, she helped celebrate it. She could make you smile just walking into the room. Shari’s favorite places to visit were The Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Red Wood Forest National Park, Adirondack Mountains, Lake Tahoe, Moosehead Lake, Las Vegas, and any Caribbean destination. After retirement she and Roger found cruising the oceans to be the best vacations ever. She would often say, “Where to next?”
“I am grateful every day that I had Shari by my side. I love her with all my heart and soul. The leukemia took her but we won because we had her in our life.”-Roger L. White
