Nicholas A. Polce, Jr.


Nicholas A.“Skip” Polce, Jr., 85, of Hinckley, passed away at home on Thursday, December 26, 2024. He was born on March 4, 1939 to Nicholas A. Polce Sr. and Antionette Gaetano.

   Nick graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1956 and married Carol LoRusso on November 24, 1960. He spent most of his career working in the food retail industry, retiring as an Area Manager for Upstate NY, from CPC International – Unilever in 1994. He then devoted his full attention to a business that he created with his family, in 1978, West Canada Creek Campsites and West Canada Creek Village. After selling the Campsites in 1999, he spent time helping his son, Nick in the Forestry and Timber business.

   Nick is survived by his loving wife Carol of 64 years and his 3 children, Nicholas R. (Diane) Polce of Remsen, Michael (Maureen) Polce of Rome, Deborah (Ward) Kessler of Poland, his brother and sister-in-law, Robert (Josephine) Polce, seven grandchildren, Nicholas K (Keri) Polce, Daniel (Chelsee) Polce, Ryan Polce and Jamie Azulay, Brianna (Corey) Foster, Adam (Faith) Kessler, Michael J. Polce, Megan Polce, 6 great grandchildren, Abigail, JoeiLynn, Colin, Saige, Quinn, and Adam Jr., and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents.

   Nick loved spending quality time with his kids, his grandchildren and his great grandchildren, cooking, and was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed playing golf, hunting & fishing, and working on his property.

Funeral services will be celebrated with a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 11 am at St. John the Baptist Church, 210 E. Dominick St., with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio as Celebrant. Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024 from 4-7pm at the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.
