Michael V. Hopper
Michael V. Hopper, 64, of Rome, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, September 5, 2021.
He was born on September 15, 1956, in Big Spring, Texas, the son of the late JB Hopper.
Mike was married to Ginger Barron.
Mike was a contractor specializing in roofing throughout the years. Mike spent his life riding Harleys, drinking, telling stories and going to the river. But his favorite thing in life was spending time with his family, especially the kids.
He is survived by his wife, Ginger Barron; his children, Melody Lopez (Ivan) of Texas, Kiki Hopper (Jared Bovee), Melody Kiley (Dennis), Ami Danko Olyer (Calvin Dauback Jr), all of Rome; his thirteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Mike is also survived by his siblings, Brenda Talley of New Mexico, Cindy Tomlinson (Jackie) of Texas, Terri Lynne Dice of Michigan, Lena Shultz (Mike Godwin) of New Mexico, his stepmother Carolyn Howerton of Texas, also several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Leland Howerton, his brothers-in-law, Kirby Sandlin and Bill Dice, his sister-in-law, Glenda Berger, his granddaughter, Genna Lynn Kiley and great granddaughter, Zzariyah Lynn Rose Yakuboski.
Mike’s celebration of life will be 4 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2021 at his home. In keeping with Mike’s wishes, cremation will occur and private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo Street, Rome.
