Michael N. McGrew

Michael N. McGrew 91 of Manlius passed away peacefully on October 4, 2023 at the Borer Memory Care Facility in Jamesville.

Mike was born August 27 1932 in Cleveland Ohio, son of Marion and Ellen Nolzes McGrew.

He graduated from Alleghany College in Meadville PA. He met and married Ellen White in 1954, a blessed Union of 69 years.

Mike was a captain of the US Airforce and would love to fly in his spare time. He was an active member of the QB organization. Mike was also very active in the Boy Scouts of America. He was recognized for his contributions with the prestigious North Star award in 2019. Mike moved to Manlius in 1975 when he bought RH Schaub and Associates. He successfully ran this business for 48 years up to the time of his death. In his spare time he love to spend summers up at a his fishing camp in Lake Temagami Canada and at the lake house In Speculator. This past year he became a resident of the Loretto Borer Memory Care Facility and quickly became family to the staff and residents.

Mike is survived by his wife Ellen, brother Thomas (Wynne), and his sons Perry ( Marie), Scott (Debra), Kevin (Lise) and Wayne (Sandra). He has 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Monday October 16. 2023 from 6-8 pm with a prayer service to follow at the Newell-Fay Chapel, 8172 Cazenovia Road, Manlius, NY 13104.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, Rome.

Internment to be in the spring at Fish Mountain Cemetery in Lake Pleasant NY. In Lieu of flowers, The family welcomes contributions to be made to The Loretto Foundation at 700 E. Brighton Ave, Syracuse NY 13205 or lorettocny.org/donate
