MaryJane Calicchia Boczulak

MaryJane “Jenny” Calicchia Boczulak, 97, of Clinton/Rome, passed away Monday, July 5, 2021 at her home with her loving family by her side.

She was born October 28, 1923 in Rome a daughter of Gaetano and Loretta Pace Iodice. On April 15, 1945 in St. John the Baptist Church she married Dominick Calicchia. She attended Rome Schools. She worked as a baker for the Rome School District and in Sacramento, CA. She enjoyed baking, cooking and playing cards with the ladies “card club”.

Jenny is survived by her beloved family, three sons, Donald (Sharon Getz) Calicchia of Clinton, Victor Calicchia of Carlsbad, CA., and Philip (Sue) Calicchia of El Dorado Hills, CA; cherished grandchildren, Katie, Vincent, Steve and Nick Calicchia; sisters-in-law, Julie Calicchia of Rome and Selma Vinci of Binghamton; brother-in-law, Henry Vinci of Binghamton and Dominick DiDone of Rome; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Dominick; sisters, Josephine (Harry) Esposito, Mary (Henry) Nicolella, Fanny (Miller) DeGrazio, Louise (Victor) Gigli; brothers Joseph Iodice and Arthur Iodice; sister-in-law Lena DiDone.

Funeral services will be at 9:00 a.m. Friday at St. John the Baptist Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio as celebrant. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery.

There will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jenny’s name (because of her love for animals) to the Humane Society of Rome, PO Box 4572, Rome, NY 13440. Envelopes will be available at the church.
