Mary Ann Fiorenza

Mary Ann Fiorenza,80, of New York Mills, passed away on November 10, 2021 at her home in New York Mills. She was born in Rome on August 14, 1941, the daughter of Vincent (Jim) and Theodora (Dora) Fiorenza.

She graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1959 and shortly thereafter was employed in Civil Service at the former GAFB. Her last employment was with the Child Guidance Clinic of the Neighborhood Center, Utica and was also a Weight Watchers group leader for 24 years.

Mary Ann is survived by her two daughters, Michelle (William) Marino and Kimberly (Kregg) Lockwood both of Liverpool; her cherished and beloved grandchildren, who were the “Love of her Life, Kaylee and Kole Lockwood and Lauren and Michael Marino all of Liverpool;

also her aunt Angeline Gotti of Rome and a niece, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents and only sibling Anthony J. Fiorenza of Rome who passed away on December 24, 2011.

Mary Ann embraced and lived by the often quoted words of wisdom, “things happen for a reason, a season or a lifetime.” She further believed that everything was governed and controlled by the Lord.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Burrstone Road, New Hartford for 54 years.

Per Mary Ann’s wishes there will be no calling hours. A private funeral service and interment will be held at St. John’s Cemetery, Rome on November 12, 2021.

A special thank you to Dr. Roger Breslow, Christine, Vicky and Joseph for many years of care; also heartfelt “thanks” to Crystal of Hospice. She was amazing, compassionate and a kind nurse.

Mary Ann fought a difficult battle with Nasopharynx Cancer for the past 15 months.

May she be at peace! Thank you God!

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.
