Gregory Fiaschetti Sr.
Gregory Fiaschetti Sr., 87, of Rome, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024 with his loving family by his side.
Gregory was born on January 12, 1937 in Rome, the son of Michael and Palma Fiaschetti He attended Rome schools and was a graduate of Rome Free Academy. On August 22, 1959 in St. John the Baptist Church, he married the love of his life, Lucy Mariani, a blessed union of 62 years until her passing in 2021.
Gregory was a loving, devoted husband, father and grandfather. Gregory was a hardworking man who worked in construction all his life until his retirement at age 63. He was a lifelong member of the Toccolana Club and was considered to be one of the founding fathers. He loved to play bocce with his friends as well as a good and lively game of cards. He was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Church.
He was the world’s best grandfather who cherished his grandson Christopher, who he lovingly referred to as “little guy”. He had a sense of humor that was non-stop and his infectious laughter had you laughing until you couldn’t stop. Gregory was loved and respected by all who knew him and will be missed forever by his adoring family. The only consolation is that he is reunited with his wife Lucy for all eternity.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Cynthia and Gordon Thompson; his son Gregory Fiaschetti Jr. (Kris Hansen); his cherished grandson Christopher; brother and sister-in-law Michael and Gloria Fiaschetti and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Augustine and Donna Mariani.
