David S. Lewis
David S. Lewis, 81, Rome, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 with his loving family by his side.
David was born on August 7, 1941, in Poughkeepsie, the son of the late Stanley and Adeline Lewis. He was a graduate of Arlington High School and Hope College. He was a member of the United States Marine Corps Reserve from 1960-66. David was a software engineer and worked for IBM. On August 24, 1963, he was united in marriage to Carol Casement Lewis, a blessed union of 55 years until Carol’s passing in 2018. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Delray, Florida.
David’s many hobbies included biking, running, boating, hiking, camping, and cross-country skiing. He was a very active volunteer and donated to many causes with some started and sustained since 1965. He volunteered at the Putnam Hospital Center, American Cancer Society, St. Agnes Hospital, the YMCA, the United Way, Bethesda Health City and the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office. His involvement to charitable programs and donations included giving blood, ushering for all churches he was a member of, Truth in Action Ministries, Evangelism Explosion International, Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, Plan International USA, World Vision, Wounded Warrior Project, Tunnel2Towers, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, American Life League, First Presbyterian Church of Delray Beach FL, D. James Kennedy Church, FL and Gilead Presbyterian Church, NY.
David is survived by his children Darryl Lewis, Deanna (Bob) Cook, Deborah (Chris) Albanese; his grandchildren Stephanie and Dylan Cook, Zachary and Sophia Slater, and Maya Albanese. He was predeceased by his parents, his beloved wife Carol, his sisters Natalie Wood and Cynthia Redgate, and his brothers John Lewis and Gilbert Lewis.
His family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the wonderful care given at Rome Health Hospital, ER, 2E and ICU.

Services will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023 at 3:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Delray Beach, Delray Beach, Florida.
