Anna Marie Parisi
Anna Marie Salvaggio Parisi, 78, a lifelong resident of Rome, passed away on August 3, 2023 at home with her family by her side.
Anna Marie was born August 15, 1944 in Rome, the youngest of nine children to Frank Sr. and Angeline Soldato Salvaggio, both of Sicily. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. She was united in marriage to James (Jim) Parisi Sr. on June 21, 1967, a blessed union of 53 years. Anna Marie and Jim had two children: James (Jimmy/Fuzzy) Parisi Jr. and Joanne Parisi Haugen.
For many years, Anna Marie was a homemaker and volunteered at Transfiguration School where she taught religious education and was involved with the Acolyte program. She also volunteered in various roles with her son’s participation in Boy Scouts and her daughter’s participation with the Girl Scouts. Once her children were older, she worked at the Rome Polish Home making countless pierogis, the Rome Memorial as a unit aide, and finally in security at Turning Stone Casino, until her retirement.
Anna Marie is survived by her daughter Joanne Parisi Haugen of Rome; her granddaughter Marianna Haugen Quintero and her husband Kevin of South Carolina, and her grandson First Lieutenant Patrick ”TURF” Haugen stationed in Ohio. In addition, she is survived by her sisters Phyllis Seifert of Middleville, Josephine Halbeisen of Mathews NC, and Frances Smith and her husband Erwin of Oneida; twenty-one nieces and nephews, several great nieces and great nephews, several first cousins, and Kenneth Haugen of Rome, whom she designated as her favorite son-in-law. She is preceded in death by her husband in 2020, her son in 2015, as well as her siblings Tony Salvaggio, Leona Wagner, Frank Salvaggio Jr., Vito Salvaggio, and Angeline Wickham.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at St. John the Baptist Church, 210 E. Dominick St. with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio as celebrant. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Anna Marie’s name to a charity of your choice.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.
