Angeline R. Wickham
Angeline (Angie) R. Wickham (Salvaggio), 88, of Rome, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022.
Angie was born on August 20, 1934 to Frank and Angeline (Soldato) Salvaggio of Rome. She was married to Allen E. Wickham for 18 years and had two children, Angela Lipe and Edward Wickham. Angie shared 21 years of her life with her fiancé Robert Malany, of Syracuse. She was educated in the Rome City School District. Angie worked for P & C Food Markets and Tops Friendly Markets from 1953 to 2016. She held the position of head-cashier for P & C for several years, and was a cashier at Tops. Angie was the Union Steward for the UFCW for a number of years during her time with P & C. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Lee Center. Angie enjoyed dancing and going to listen to live music with her companion Thomas Alder, as well going on trips with her friends from Ava Dorfman, and having lunch with the ladies in the Red Hatters group. She spent her last week under the care of the amazing staff at The Abraham House in Rome. Thank you for the work you do!
Angeline is survived by her devoted companion of 17 years, Thomas Alder of Lee Center; her children and their spouses, Angela and Robert Lipe of Port Richey, FL and Edward and Megan Wickham of Whitesboro; her grandchildren, Jammie DeVaul of Floyd and Lia Wickham of Whitesboro; her four sisters, Anna Marie Parisi of Rome, Josephine Halbeisen of NC, Phyllis Seifert of Middleville, and Francis Smith of Oneida; her favorite nephew, Frank Salvaggio of Floyd, NY; several other nieces and nephews; and her lifelong customers.
Angeline was predeceased by her ex-husband, Allen E. Wickham in 1992; her loving fiancé, Robert Malany in 2004; one sister and her husband, Edwin (E.J.) and Leona Wagner; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Frank and Joan Salvaggio, Anthony and Joan Salvaggio, and Vito Salvaggio; and nephew/godson, James (Jimmy) Parisi.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at 6 pm at the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 West Embargo St, with Father Robert Kelly as officiant. Calling hours will be from 4-6 pm prior to the service. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a monetary donation to The Abraham House, 1203 Kemble Street, Utica, NY 13501, who provide end of life care at no cost to their guests and their families.
