Albert D. Santamour
Albert D. Santamour, 62, of Rome went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at home. Albert was born on October 30, 1961 in New Hartford, New York. He was born to Mary Piersma and Pierre Santamour. Albert was baptized at and regularly attended Immanuel Baptist Church.
Albert was employed at Walmart as a store associate and has been a dedicated employee for 24 years. Albert attended Wetmore and Kernan elementary schools. He studied and worked as a CNA at Rome Nursing Home and other facilities. Albert was an avid fisherman, enjoyed gardening, loved his wife’s cooking, and loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. Albert was known to be quite the prankster to all of his family and friends. He also liked to drop off surprise gifts to others. In his car, Albert proudly displayed his placard for the NYC Environmental Protection Agency. He was concerned about conservation, recycling and composting.
Family was very important to Albert. He is survived by his wife Sandra, his mother Mary Hammond, his biological children – Amanda (Bear) Santamour, Kirsty (Fly) Santamour and Albert (AJ) Santamour, Jr. Also surviving are Sandra’s children – Anthony (Melissa) Frankey, Paula (David) Bush, Deaven Frankey, Dustin (Nicole) Frankey, Jonathan (Taylor) Frankey, and fifteen grandchildren – Tyrique and Najalique Taylor, Katalaya and Kayde Ringrose, Karte’Ye Santamour, Kayla, Elijah, Austin and Ryan Bush, Clairese and Mila Frankey, Dominic, Markus, Gianna, and Reese Frankey.
Additional surviving family members include siblings Richard (Cindy) Welch, Barbara (Andy) Welch-Drozd, Mary Tartaglia and Clem (Anita) Atchley and their children; Matthew (Karen) DeBella, Milana (Gabe) Ciotti and Donna (Todd) Hoffman and their children.
Also surviving, his mother-in-law Agatha DeBella.
Albert was pre-deceased by his father, a son, David (Boot) Santamour and a brother-in-law Stephen DeBella.
There will be no public visiting hours. A Celebration of Life at Immanuel Baptist Church, 1006 W. Embargo St. Rome, will be held on Tuesday July 2, 2024 at 6:30pm.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.
