Marie E. Dyer

Marie E. Dyer, 86, of Rome, passed away at home on Sunday, June 25, 2017 with her loving family by her side.

She was born on May 9, 1931 in Sherburne, NY, a daughter of Clifford and Claudine Winton Wilcox. On August 1, 1950 in Sherburne she married Fred S. Dyer, a blessed union of 67 years. She attended schools in New Berlin, NY and MVCC. Marie had worked for the former Stars Store and retired after many years as the office manager of a Medical office.

She enjoyed gardening, camping, travelling and mostly spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member for many years of the Stanwix Heights Fire Dept. Auxiliary and marched in many parades. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Marie is survived by her beloved family, her husband Fred; two daughters and a son-in-law, Christine Dunn of Vernon and Cheryl and Mel Eychner of Lee Center; a son, Fred S. Dyer III of Rome; cherished grandchildren and spouses, Caryn and Peter Dunn, Anthony and Kelly Basi, Jason Eychner and his friend Robin Smith, Timothy Eychner, Allison Eychner; great-grandchildren, Gage Dunn and Avery and Eli Basi; three sisters, Jane Mondore, Joan Knickerbocker and Janice Flessa and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be private. There will be no calling hours.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.
