Patricia Ann (Stiefvater) Keator


Patricia Ann (Stiefvater) Keator, 83, of Rome, formerly of Yorkville, passed away at home on Saturday, January 28, 2017 with her loving family by her side.

Patricia was born on April 19, 1933 in Utica, the daughter of George and Anna Goppert Stiefvater. She was previously employed by Holland Farms, New York Mills School System and the Utica Water Board. She enjoyed playing Bingo, baking cookies and cakes, crocheting and watching her grandchildren grow.

She was fiercely dedicated to her twelve children and always made herself available. As a mother, she never asked for anything in return and her love was unconditional and had no boundaries. She was blessed with twenty-one grandchildren, ranging in ages from one to twenty-seven.

Patricia is survived by twelve children, John (Linda), Michael (Mary), Ann Marie (Aaron) Gregory, Mary Frances (Tim) Jones, Christine (Patrick) Kain, Joseph, Christian (Julie), Patti Ann (Ron) Bonanza, Scott (Michele), Stephen (Leah), Paul (Vonda) and Carrie Ann. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren. Patricia was predeceased by an infant son Christopher Keator, a grandson Tanner Keator and former husband John M Keator.

Her daughter Ann Marie and family would like to express their thanks to the care providers from Family Home Care, especially Mel Croniser for her special care and love she extended to Patricia.

Memorial services will be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 11:00 in St. Peters Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Philip Hearn as celebrant.

There will be no calling hours.

In May 2017 there will be an interment service at St. Joseph’s & St. Patrick’s Church and cemetery in Utica.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, NY 13413. Envelopes will be available at the Church.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.
